Pita chips are so simple to make.  They also taste far better than prepackaged pita chips.  Start with oil-free, whole-grain pitas.  There are a variety of brands on the market that make oil-free pitas.  Or try your local Farmers’ Market. That’s where we buy ours during farmers’ market season.  If you’re really in a pinch, or just looking for the ultimate in pita taste, try making your own.  They are absolutely fabulous.  And they’re fun to watch as they puff up in your oven.  You can find many oil-free recipes on the web.  I’ll post my tried-and-true version next month.  So go ahead.  Make your own Baked Pita Chips. You don’t have to wait for company or to throw a party to enjoy them. Pair them with any of our dips, such as Tuscan White Bean Dip, and treat yourself to good food and good health.
